A Presence of Absence
The images in this project are based around the concept of a void that is tied to the loss of my twin while still in the womb. Although this subject has not had a great deal of research dedicated to it, studies have consistently shown that the womb-twin survivor carries a great sense of loss/abandonment throughout life.

The use of tightly cropped photography with translucent typography attempts to suggest the sense of something deep inside—loneliness and separation—without an actual memory. The poster and book represent my experience as a survivor, while the blank spaces on the wall and floor represent the thoughts, feelings, emotions, experiences and motivations that never had the chance to be realized.
